چکیده
i b a t otential candidates for implant restoration of the ompletely edentulous maxilla may be interested in eceiving a fixed prosthesis as opposed to a removble overdenture. Multiple surgical approaches are vailable in order to provide this type of care. Graftess approaches such as the use of tilted implants ncluding the zygomatic implant, allow the surgeon to stablish adequate support for a fixed prosthesis withut bone grafting. Adjunctive procedures such as sius grafting, maxillary osteotomies as well as horizonal augmentations are also available for surgeons who ay prefer the grafting approach for the reconstrucion of this group of patients. The ability to determine arly in the consultation process the type of fixed prosheses necessary to provide the best functional and eshetic results is advantageous. This current therapy artile examines 3 critical factors; the nature of the patient’s ental condition and whether the residual ridge is isible in both the relaxed lip and smiling state, direct he choice of fixed dental prostheses. The presence r the absence of bone in the 3 radiographic zones,

Loading protocols and implant supported restorations proposed for the rehabilitation of partially and fully edentulous jaws. Camlog Foundation Consensus Report
OBJECTIVES The aim of this consensus meeting was to assess whether immediate loading protocols achieve comparable clinical outcomes when compared to conventional loading protocols depending on the type of prosthetic restoration. In addition post-loading implant loss for implant supported prostheses in edentulous jaws was analyzed regarding a potential impact of implant location (maxilla vs. man...
متن کاملImmediate loading of implants with fixed restorations in the completely edentulous mandible: report of 27 patients from a private practice.
Numerous authors have documented clinical success in loading threaded implants at the time of implant placement when carefully controlled surgical and restorative protocols are followed. This clinical series documents the application of immediate loading techniques to fixed mandibular restorations in 27 patients who were edentulous or had non-restorable mandibular dentitions. Eighteen patients ...
متن کاملImplant- and Tooth-Supported Fixed Prostheses Using a High-Performance Polymer (Pekkton) Framework.
The type of prosthetic restoration used in implant rehabilitation greatly contributes to the recovery of masticatory function as well as quality of life in patients. Frameworks for implant-supported prostheses are typically made by casting metal or milling either titanium or zirconia. Recently, nonmetal, polymer-type materials were suggested as framework materials. Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK),...
متن کاملPredictors of implant loss with rehabilitation of edentulous jaws with implant-assisted complete prostheses
Systematic review conclusion: Implant location, type of restoration, and implant number do have an influence on the estimated implant loss rate. In general, conventional loading tended to result in fewer implant losses. However, the implant loss rate for fixed prostheses in maxilla and mandible did not significantly differ concerning immediate and conventional loading. It has to be noted, thoug...
متن کاملA systematic review and meta‐analysis of removable and fixed implant‐supported prostheses in edentulous jaws: post‐loading implant loss
OBJECTIVES The aim of this systematic review was to analyze post-loading implant loss for implant-supported prostheses in edentulous jaws, regarding a potential impact of implant location (maxilla vs. mandible), implant number per patient, type of prosthesis (removable vs. fixed), and type of attachment system (screw-retained, ball vs. bar vs. telescopic crown). MATERIAL AND METHODS A systema...
